An unfortunate bit of news for this afternoon as Macho Man Randy Savage has died at the age of 58. Savage was a beloved wrestler for the WWE from 1985-1993, and was able to capture both the Intercontinental and World Heavyweight titles. He had feuds with superstars like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, and Sting. He was known for being both a good wrestler/entertainer, and giving crazy interviews that frightened small children. Savage also wrestled in WCW, but nobody really wants to talk about that.

He will be missed.

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.”

Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

Savage’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision — but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.

The flags at Slim Jim HQ are at half mast
