Natasha Wang is your 2011 US Pole Dancing Federation champion for the second year in a row after the competition took place on Friday the 29th in New York City. I know with the NBA and NHL playoffs going on, as well as the NFL draft, you might’ve been remiss in following this exciting, pole dancing, action, but that is why the Deuce is here to keep you filled in with ALL of your sports information needs.

What a country we live in, amirite? I mean to consider the “art” of pole dancing an actual sport worthy of a championship is quite an amazing thing. We’ve now taken one of the sleaziest acts a person could do and legitimized it to the point that there are competitions that don’t involve any nudity or smokey underground clubs and if that isn’t enough you don’t have to be a crackwhore in need of a buck for another rock or a delusional 19 year old saving for that community college education to be doing it anymore. Fitness professionals are now in on this action! There are classes your mother/girlfriend/wife can take where they too can learn how to ride the pole all while working out their ass and abs. ALL OF THIS IS A WIN FOR MANKIND!

I digress. Sadly we don’t know what the winning routine was because its not out on the interwebs yet but we do have a video of Natasha doing what COULD be SOME of her winning routine in a promo video for the USPDF. Check out ole’ Natasha in action.

Pretty sweet huh? Natasha also receives a pretty sweet prize package for being the best pole dancer in the United States. For her troubles she gets:

  • $5,000 from the USPDF
  • Flight and accommodation (up to 7 days) to Sydney (AUS) to perform at Miss Pole Dance Australia 2012 from the USPDF
  • Exclusive USPDF/X-Pole Tour 2011:
    • All expenses paid by X-Pole, including liability insurance
    • Escorted by Stacey Pope or her assistant on the tour
    • 6 days of instructing workshops where she will receive payment per workshop
    • Tour dates will be arranged after the US Pole Dance Championship 2011
    • Duration: 2 weeks in the UK/Ireland area

Not bad at all. Everyone should root for her and the USA when she’s down in Sydney performing for our country. Want more information on the whole pole dancing phenomenon? Check out this CBS news report on the whole thing including the 2011 Championships.

USA! USA!
