They say breaking up is never easy to do. Sen. Clay Davis says, “Sheeeeeeeeit!” When you’re Titans owner Bud Adams, it’s as easy as throwing up the middle finger. It’s also much easier when you’re the vouyeur and force someone else to be in the relationship.

The love affair that was Bud Adams and Vince Young is over. The Titans announced that they will release or trade the former Longhorn during the off-season and search for a new franchise quarterback.

Statement of Bud Adams:

“Vince will not be on our roster next season. I want to offer my personal thanks to Vince for all of his positive contributions to the club. These kinds of decisions are never easy and this is especially true for this particular player. I certainly wish that things would have worked out better, but I think it is best for the franchise that we move on at this point.”

Coach Jeff Fisher is still waiting to hear whether he’ll be in Nashville next fall but he has to be relieved that he no longer has to deal with the emotionally volatile Young.

Things came to a head this season after Young injured his thumb during the Titans game against the Redskins. He threw a temper tantrum and cussed Fisher out in front of the team afterwards. However that wasn’t the first time they danced.

Young was seen as a tantalizing prospect after leading Texas to a national title and scoring a magnificently low 6 on his Wonderlic test. He’s shown flashes of the talent that made many teams take notice over the past couple seasons but more times than not, he’s exhibited the maturity of a 12 year old.

After injuring himself during the 2008 season, Young made several mentions of suicide to his therapist. She called Fisher in a panic after the quarterback left with a gun. He called the police and the search was on to find him before he did something drastic. Young was found after four hours later and his agent claimed he was eating chicken with a friend. Yao even.

Last summer, Young got in a fight with the manager of a strip club after bitching about an ATM surcharge.

We’re told the manager is from Oklahoma and flashed an upside down “hook ‘em horns” hand signal and said “F**k the Longhorns” to Vince — who, if you don’t know, was a National Championship quarterback for the University of Texas Longhorns.

That’s when Vince allegedly socked the manager in the face and had to be dragged out of the club, according to sources.

There’s also the issue of Young crying on the sidelines but enough about that. He needs to be sent off with a proper musical tribute but I couldn’t decide on a song. Here are the two finalists. Let us know if you have any other suggestions.

After The Love Is Gone by Earth, Wind and Fire

We kid cause that’s how we does. Seriously here’s hoping Young gets some help and lands on his feet with a different team. He can still do good things if he can get his head straight. There’s no reason teams should be relying on Jake Delhomme, Alex Smith and Brian St. Pierre when players like Young are out there.
