Think The Nats Miss These Guys?

After watching the Washington Nationals get beat last night by a former farmhand, I wondered how many other players are out there and performing well that we got rid of for nothing in return when MLB gutted the less than beloved Montreal Expos. Turns out, it was a lot. My conclusion, Omar Minaya is a scumbag...and MLB should be ashamed they did this to the franchise. Oh how things coulda been different (good players we lost in bold).

April 3, 2004 - Traded Chris Young and Josh McKinley (minors) to the Texas Rangers. Received Einar Diaz and Justin Echols (minors).
July 31, 2004 - Traded Orlando Cabrera to the Boston Red Sox. Received Brendan Harris, Alex Gonzalez, and Francis Beltran from the Chicago Cubs.
September 16, 2004 - Sent Alex Gonzalez to the San Diego Padres as part of a conditional deal.
November 19, 2004 - Traded Maicer Izturis and Juan Rivera to the Anaheim Angels. Received Jose Guillen.

Ok, well the last few are Jim Bowden's fault...but at least he's done more good than bad to the organization over the last few years, despite his love of "toolsy" outfielders and old, weak hitting, poor defensive infielders.

Nevertheless, I feel cheated.

Ballhype: hype it up!
