Well, what am I supposed to do? You won’t answer my calls, you change your number. I mean, I’m not gonna be ignored, Cristiano!
You don’t leave Sir Alex Ferguson unless he wants you to leave. Jaap Staam, Ruud Van Horseyface and David Beckham got off lucky. He wanted them gone. Cristiano Ronaldo was a different story. Fergie did everything he could to keep him there but the orange one was determined to go for the money grab. Fergie had a Pete Carroll reaction to Ronaldo’s departure and that should have been the end of it however…
Cristiano Ronaldo thought he was big time. He thought he could do what Jaap Stam, David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ruud Van Nistelrooy couldn’t do. He thought he could make Sir Alex Ferguson bend to his will. Here come the pain, big time. He’s staying at Old Trafford this season.
‘Sir Alex Ferguson heard my reasons, I heard his and we have an agreement that the best for both parties would be if I stay. Therefore, I can confirm that next season I will play in Manchester United.
‘For a while, my desire was that Manchester would accept Real Madrid’s bid. To say the opposite would be cheating people and my own conscience.’
Translation: I wanted to leave. I tried to force a move. Fergie said, “Um…no.”
“I flew to Portugal some weeks ago and we cleared the air and he spoke to some of the players,” Ferguson told MUTV.
“The boy has been through a troubled time in terms of the approaches from Spain but once he knew my stance, he then settled down.
…”We can put this to bed now. It’s finished and the boy is a Manchester United player and that’s the most important thing.”
Whatever he said changed Ronaldo’s tone right quick.
“I was responsible for all this controversy,” [Ronaldo] added.
“I was the one who publicly expressed my desire to go to Real Madrid. I ended up being, even involuntarily, responsible for the poor relationship between the two clubs.”
That’s gangsta. Kunta Kinte should have realized that Fergie sells when he wants to sell and on his terms. Now he’s forced to service Fergie’s favorite boy on demand until the winter transfer window as an example to all others who would challenge the rule of Red Nose.
Portugal manager and Captain Ramsey doppelganger Luiz Felipe Scolari knows how to play the game. On July 1, he will start his new job as Chelsea manager. In the meantime, he’s focused on the task at hand which is steering Portugal through the Euro.
No one doubts that lifting the trophy in Vienna is Scolari’s main goal but he also has time to counsel his players on their club life. Rumors abound that he has advised Cristiano Ronaldo to transfer to Real Madrid. They are desperate to have him and willing to break the bank to make it happen.
Scolari has even praised him in front of the press during the tournament.
“Ronaldo’s secret thing is the one you all know. He is simple, humble and a magnificent worker. He is part of a group to which he is dedicated and has a will to win of such strength that I have never seen it in anyone else. The others in the group soak up this incredible will to win, dedication and talent. On top of that, he has all his technical qualities. For me, he is one of a kind.”
Sir Alex Ferguson must be turning redder than usual as he watches Scolari push Ronaldo away from Manchester in order to ease Chelsea’s path to another Premiership title. It’s bad enough for him that Real has been blatantly tapping Ronaldo up for weeks. We can’t wait to see how Scolari and Fergie get along especially if Ronaldo forces a transfer to Real. Bring on the new season already.
Fergie Jr. has been released on bail until December 6th.
Beckham ended up with a boot in the face. It remains to be seen whether Fergie Jr. stepped his game up. Nadine should form an anti-Fergies support group with Beckham, Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
