Ron Artest Wastes No Time Cashing In On Lakers Championship
Ron Ron has already put out a single and music video for his new track entitled “Champions”. He brings the rhymes like only a Tru Warier can do. Naw’mean? How long do you think he’s had this thing in the can, ready to go just in case he won a title? Would this have appeared on some Tru Warier B Sides & Rarities compilation if he never won the NBA title? The world may never know.
In all honestly, the song wouldn’t be so bad if the dreaded auto-tune wasn’t used and abused with reckless abandon throughout the song. I guess that is more a reflection on the current state of hip-hop more so than on Ron Artest’s rhyming skills, which, surprisingly, are not horrible here. Overall, I give the track a grade of “meh”.
