What is Roger Goodell Going To Do With This?

Things have gotten so bad in the NFL even the player's MOTHERS are committing crimes. Dallas Cowboys' Pro Bowl TE Jason Witten's mother, Kimberly Witten (pictured below), has been arrested for 25 counts of forgery and theft over $1,000 from the bank account of Marie McQueen on June 22. From Tricities.com:

Police say during an interview with investigators on Monday, July 2, Kimberly Witten gave a written statement admitting to the crime.

According to investigators, Kimberly Witten said she obtained McQueen's bank account information from a statement that was mistakenly delivered to her mailbox. Kimberly Witten said she had experienced financial difficulties and began withdrawing funds from McQueen's account.

If it wasn't out of control already, the NFL has now officially gotten out of control. What is Goodell going to do? He can barely control the players, their wives, or their friends let alone the player's mothers! But the real story is, why the hell is the mother of an NFL player experiencing "financial difficulties"? What the fuck has she been doing? Alternatively, why the fuck is he not helping out his mother? There must be more to why Witten hates his mom, someone find this out. Over/under of a 2 game suspension for Witten hating his mother and not being able to keep her in check?

Mothers don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys' mothers

You shouldn't comment on topics you don't have all the facts about. I live in the same town where Jason Witten grew up and where his mother committed this incomprehensible crime. I do know that Jason does NOT hate his mother, that he has given her money on many occasions, a car, and furniture for her new house. If she is "experiencing financial difficulties," it is through her own mistakes, and not because Jason hasn't helped her. As for her other two sons, they are NOT in a financial position to help her.

Concerned reader...I live in the tri-cities as well and since her son Shawn was just named the football coach for Elizabethton, I would imagine that he is in the financial position to help her.

That being said the running theory that I've heard lately is not that she in particular is having financial difficulties but that it is to help Jason and Shawn's brother who apparently has been quite the source of trouble.

It all boils down to stealing money out of this lady's account which she knew better and should have never sone that. A lot of us are financial unstable but that gives us no right to open someones mail and take her money. That is stealing and thats wrong. How do we know that her son's was not helping her out? We don't and she should have never done what she did and it is not up to her sons to bail her out of this trouble.

Interesting posts guys. What kind of trouble has Jason's brother been getting into that would require his mom to go and do something like this? Gambling, drugs, something else?

First of all, I DO know Jason Witten, he played ball with my Son. He and his family are normal human beings, like anyone else, they have flaws. Jason is a fine young man, he is humble and respectful of the people around him, including his Mother. All of the hoopla surrounding him was created by others -- not him.
His Mother's "financial difficulties"
are a puzzlement to me, as she drives around in an Escalade, owns a new home and has been given lots of other things by her Son and family. If you ask me -- her Karma got her -- thats what happens when you walk around with your nose in the air and act aloof from everybody. Every dog has it's day. But Jason Witten has nothing to do with this. As for the problems of his oldest Brother -- not gambling or drugs, again, financial. Some people can never have enough money...

What was the outcome of her July 31planned hearing? I haven't been able to track down any info on line. Why do I care? Passing time late at night, after moving back to the town Kim and I grew up in. Loved how other posters have indicated karma might have caught up with her and her disjointed nose and all. Believe me, she was always snooty. It really burned me that she won over and married the guy I wanted. He was so cute, tall and shy in high school. Eddie ended up a drug addict who left her and the boys and beat up on his own mom. I saw him a few times sitting on his mom's porch this summer, still tall but that's all. Anyway, if anyone hears please post. I read she is working as a special ed teacher's assistant in Elizabethton. Some poster was burned that they allowed her to keep the job when others might have been forced to resign. Thanks for your help.

I just happened to surf onto this website this evening and was shocked to read about Kim's legal troubles. Kim and I grew up together in Tazewell (VA) and I knew her well through high school until she moved to TN and I moved to CA. I have wonderful memories of our times together in the brownies, girlscouts, dance, and sleepovers. I haven't seen Kim in 30+ years, so I don't really know her anymore. What I do know, though, is that she comes from a lovely family, as does Jason's father. I was so appalled at some of the postings I read. First of all, this is Kim's alledged crime, not Jason's. Jason shouldn't have to answer for his mother's transgressions. As far as whomever provides financial support to Kim, that is Kim's business. Since the local newspaper reported that she signed a statement of guilt, it would appear that she did indeed commit the crime, and of course it is wrong. However, it is possible that Kim might have a mental problem, such as suffering from depression or whatever. I know it sounds like I'm taking up for her and I'm not discounting the seriousness of the crime, but I don't understand why everyone is pouncing on her. She is the one who has to answer to the charges. She needn't be tarred and feathered by anyone who feels like taking a shot at her. Furthermore, Jason is a fine young man and an awesome TE, and he has worked hard to get where he is. He donates his time and money to those in need. And he probably does provide financial support to his mother, but that's really none of anyone else's business. Lastly, speaking of Karma, it's not nice to speak ill of others or to bask in their misfortunes.
